The Bute Silos are one step closer to becoming the centrepiece of the town.
Contractors have completed rust damage repairs to the steel drums closest to the main street, and recently finished painting them white.
They are now prepped and ready for artist, Scott Nagy, to begin the mural early next year.
The Bute 2000 Onwards Progress Committee partnered with the local council to secure almost 50 thousand dollars in funding for the project through the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, Tackling Tough Times Together program.
The project will also include the creation of a park with dedicated picnic and viewing areas and upgrades to the public toilet facilities.
The Bute silo art will add to the growing Australian Silo Art Trail.
