Today marks the much-anticipated opening of Whyalla’s new Aldi store, bringing with it the promise of more jobs for the steel city.
The new store will be supported by a team of 20 employees, while the construction process also created up to 20 full-time positions.
As well as the new Aldi, work is also continuing on the 100-million-dollar State Government high school; and the airport upgrades worth 12.1 million dollars; while Electranet is undertaking a major construction project on the town’s doorstep, and recent announcements about a possible hydrogen hub in Port Bonython, are all helping boost local economy.
Aldi Whyalla will feature a number of innovations including simple navigation, expansive wooden produce bays, and energy efficient fridges and LED lighting.
The new store will be located at 10 Ekblom Street and is on a 1700m² site.
