Despite the Flinders and Yorke Peninsula observing severe to extreme fire danger ratings earlier in the week, the fire ban season is still set to finish early this year after a cooler than average summer.

The fire danger season generally runs from November through to April 30, however the Flinders and Yorke Peninsula will be pushed forward to today, subject to conditions.

During the Fire Danger Season restrictions are placed on lighting fires, including burn offs and camp fires, to reduce the chances large fires spreading.
