Rolling into Port Augusta has just got a whole lot more impressive with the latest additions to the town’s huge hybrid wind and solar farm being installed on the Augusta Highway, just 8km out of town.

The 500-million-dollar renewable energy project located near the former site of South Australia’s last coal-fired power station, got underway in October 2020 and is expected to take up to 18 months to complete.

There are 50 turbines planned for the area in total which will have the potential to power 180 thousand homes annually.
