Dirt Bike riding is an increasingly popular pass time in Port Augusta and Stirling North, however riders have been reminded there are strict rules surrounding the hobby.
Port Augusta City Council is urging people to reconsider where they ride, with reserves and coastal areas strictly prohibited due to the negative impact on the community, landscape and wildlife.
Dirt bikes are classified as a motor vehicle and are therefore in breach of laws when not complying with the same rules which we have for cars including registration requirements.
Both riding on walking tracks and using an unregistered vehicle will attract a fine.
