Cancer patients travelling from the regions will soon have new and improved accommodation in Adelaide when travelling for treatment.

Cancer Council SA have begun construction on their new $31 million lodge development, which will replace the current accommodation which has been used for over 30 years.

Chief Executive of Cancer Council SA, Lincoln Size, says the service is popular among regional South Australians.

"In the last financial year the lodges provided more than 30,000 nights of accommodation to regional and remote South Australians, and that included 5,500 nights to the Yorke & Mid-North region," said Mr Size.
