In Roxby Downs, SAPOL conducted a targeted operation focusing on drink and drug driving.
The focussed operation took place over the past week with three drivers receiving large fines after being caught drink driving.
On Wednesday 10 February a 45-year-old man from Port Pirie South returned a breath test reading of 0.05.
On Thursday 11 February a 31-year-old man from Moana returned a breath test reading of 0.065, and on Friday 12 February a 34-year-old man from Queensland returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.07.
All three drivers were issued $834 fines and 4 demerit points.
SAPOL wish to remind drivers that if they choose to go out and drink alcohol, choose how to get home safely, such as a taxi, public transport or a designated driver who has drunk any alcohol.
Remember, one drink could cost more than you think.
