The Whyalla City Council monthly meeting will be held tonight in the Council Chambers in Whyalla.

The meeting is due to commence at 5.30 pm.

On the agenda is The future of the Whyalla beach cafe.

In response to community feedback, Whyalla City Council released a survey in January which enabled residents to have their say on the future of the foreshore café facility over the short-to-medium term.

The Survey closed on 7th of February with a overwhelming response from the public.

The results will have been processed and analysed by McGregor Tan, with the report going live at the meeting.

The Forshore cafe's future will be considered and the next steps to be discussed.

Other points up for discussion:

-  the success of the new jetty;

- the potential hotel development at the site of the existing Foreshore Motor Inn;

- the potential development of a new Surf Life Saving facility;

- and the impending closure of the Whyalla High School site at the end of 2021.

Due to social distancing requirements there are limited seats available for members of the public to attend the Chambers in person, the council recommends arriving early to secure a spot.
