A man has been charged with firearms offences following a search at a Whyalla home earlier this week.
Following an investigation, Police attended an address in Whyalla Stuart and had cause to search the home under the Firearms Act. Police allegedly located both a firearm and ammunition.
A 37-year-old man from the address was arrested and charged with possess firearm without a licence, possess ammunition, insecure firearm.
He was refused bail and appeared in the Whyalla Magistrates Court.
Last week, Whyalla Police seized a number of firearms from a Whyalla address after a tip-off.
Acting on information received, police searched a Whyalla Playford address on Friday the 13th of November.
Three rifles, a shotgun, four handguns and ammunition, all found to be stored insecurely, were all seized. Three of the firearms were found to be unregistered.
A 45-year-old Whyalla Playford man was arrested and charged with firearms offences, including possess unregistered firearms and having insecure firearms and ammunition.
He was refused bail and will attended the Whyalla Magistrates Court.
