Emergency Resilience Workshops will commence in the Mid North this week.
The Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council have announced that building safer communities will be the theme of a series of the workshops, which have been designed to bring communities together.
The first workshop will be held in Clare tomorrow, before heading to Auburn, Manoora, Riverton and Stockport.
Workshops will be held:
CLARE: 21 Oct, 2020, 7-9pm, Barbara J Long Room, Clare Town Hall.
AUBURN: 22 Oct, 2020, 7-9pm, Auburn Institute
MANOORA: 27 Oct, 2020, 7-9pm, Manoora Hall
RIVERTON: 28 Oct, 2020, 7-9pm, Riverton Community Hall
STOCKPORT: 29 Oct, 2020, 7-9pm, Stockport Hall
Council have said, “Rural communities have more than their fair share of both natural and man-made disasters to cope with, including fires, flood and drought.”
The workshops aim to assist regional communities in building resilience when things go wrong and emergencies do occur, by decide upon a community wide approach in responding to and also recovering from emergencies.
The workshop have been Funded through the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Program.
