A man has been arrested in Port Pirie following an incident involving a gel blaster.
Earlier this week police were advised of a traffic incident on Augusta Highway at Bungama, where a man driving a car reported that a fawn coloured Toyota sedan was driving aggressively.
The Toyota tailgated the victim’s car for some time before it drove past and the front passenger allegedly pointed what appeared to be a rifle in the driver’s direction.
Port Pirie, Gladstone and Crystal Brook patrols attended and searched the area where they eventually sighted and stopped the vehicle on Augusta Highway approximately 5km south of Warnertown.
Three occupants in the suspect vehicle were removed without incident. Police searched the vehicle and located three gel blasters, matching the description of the gun that was pointed at the victim. A 28-year-old man from Whyalla was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
