Premier Stephen Marshall will be making an appearance in Whyalla today for the official opening of the city’s Loop Jetty.
The new $7.8 million dollar jetty will be opened by Mr Marshall and Whyalla Mayor Clare McLaughlin, with locals able to take a stroll around the jetty’s iconic loop from this afternoon onwards.
Construction on the jetty first began in 2019 and has attracted attention for its unique design. The jetty is 38m longer than the original, as the loop adds a further 150m, bringing the total length to 315m.
Locals are encouraged to practise social distancing when using the jetty, which is set to become a ‘must see’ for tourists.
