You might have heard that Disney are building two identical Star Wars theme parks - one at Disneyworld and one at Disney Land. Not much was really known about the parks until the weekend when Disney threw its fan expo, D23. And wow!
So the park is set to be 14 acres large, making it the biggest in the Disney empire. Despite all that size, it's going to focus on just two rides. The first lets you fly in the Millenium Falcon. Everyone on the ride will have a roll to play in flying the Falcon and your performance will affect your whole experience in the park. Do well and you'll be rewarded with extra credits. Do badly and you might be hunted through the park by a bounty hunter (it won't be too hard to catch you either - you'll probably be queueing up for the other ride). That second ride lets you join a battle between the Resistance and the First Order - I think there'll be a lot of us who want to join the First Order and take down Jar Jar Binks. Speaking of Jar Jar, a whole bunch of characters will show up in the park, including Chewy and Kylo Renn.
But that's not all, Disney's also confirmed a Star Wars-themed luxuary resort that's being touted as a completely immersive Star Wars experience. That means everyone working in the resort is in full roleplay mode as a Star Wars character. It'll be like the Truman Show a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.
Disney have also released these images of the park and you've gotta say, it looks awesome!
