Port Augusta’s youth crime levels are in the spotlight again…

Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians, Linda Burney was in town yesterday to deliver the funding, with the next step to establish a leadership group involving key local figures.

Those who form the group will determine what new initiatives will be created in collaboration with young people.

Last year, more than 100 Port Augusta children, some as young as 10-years-old, were charged with serious criminal offences including assault, arson, and drug possession.
