Five teenagers were arrested on Sunday, 10 March, following an overnight crime spree spanning from Port Augusta to Port Pirie.

Using a white Ford Ranger that had been reported stolen from Port Augusta at 1:15am, the suspects broke into a Port Pirie motorcycle shop on Wanderah Road around 4:30am.

The window was smashed to gain entry and three suspects were seen loading up motorbikes into the dual cab ute.

Then, just after 6am, the vehicle was involved in a fuel drive-off in Port Augusta.

Port Augusta patrols searched the area for the stolen ute but were unable to locate the vehicle.

However, police apprehended two youths seen running off in the vicinity of the search area, arresting a 13-year-old and 14 year-old boy from Port Augusta West.

Just after 8am, police received calls from members of the public reporting a white Ford Ranger speeding south along Port Wakefield Highway at Windsor.

Three more Port Augusta boys were arrested – two aged 13 and one aged 14 – when the vehicle was located and its tyres were spiked.
