The Royal Flying Doctor Service has received a significant donation of around $400,000 from the estate of Geoffrey Filmer in Warooka.
Mr. Filmer, who passed away last year, structured his will to ensure that all proceeds from his properties, including his lifelong home, would be donated to the RFDS.
His cousin, Graeme Ball, explained that Mr. Filmer had a personal connection to the RFDS and believed they deserved his support due to their essential services in remote areas.
The RFDS said the donation is highly unusual and the legacy of Mr. Filmer’s generosity will continue to benefit their critical work in providing medical assistance to remote regions.
