Police are investigating after around 20 sheep were struck by a vehicle north of Port Wakefield on Sunday morning.
Officers were called to the Augusta Highway at 5.30am – where the sheep were hit – the vehicle is believed to have fled the scene.
The owner and CFS volunteers cleared the highway, which reopened on Sunday evening.

The RSPCA believes the vehicle likely did not stop to render assistance or contact emergency services.
