Major Mid North drug operation wraps up with multiple arrests

A long-running police investigation into one of the largest drug syndicates operating in the Mid North has come to an end, with officers making significant arrests and seizing large quantities of drugs and cash.

Port Pirie CIB began the investigation in March 2025, targeting the supply of illicit drugs across the Yorke Mid North region. Police conducted numerous searches throughout the operation, resulting in multiple people being arrested on trafficking and money-laundering charges.

  • A 23-year-old Angle Vale woman, charged with trafficking a controlled drug. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.
  • A 24-year-old Solomontown woman, charged with 13 counts of trafficking and money laundering. She was bailed to appear in Port Augusta Magistrates Court in February.
  • A 25-year-old Elizabeth woman, charged with five trafficking offences and one count of money laundering. She was remanded in custody until March.
  • A 28-year-old Port Pirie West man, charged with one count of trafficking. He will face the Port Pirie Magistrates Court in December.
  • A 32-year-old Solomontown man, charged with six trafficking offences. He was remanded until February.

  • A 33-year-old Port Pirie West man, charged with three trafficking offences and money laundering. He was remanded until April.
  • A 34-year-old Moonta man, charged with five counts of trafficking. He was remanded until February.
  • A 37-year-old Port Pirie West man, charged with five trafficking offences. He was bailed to appear in Port Augusta Magistrates Court in February.
  • A 37-year-old Port Pirie West woman, charged with four trafficking offences. She was also bailed to appear in Port Augusta in February.
  • A 37-year-old Berri man, charged with two trafficking offences. He was remanded.

  • A 40-year-old Burton woman, charged with six trafficking offences. She was bailed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.
  • A 41-year-old Enfield man, charged with nine trafficking offences and money laundering. He was remanded until March.
  • A 53-year-old Loveday man, charged with 12 counts of trafficking. He was remanded until April.
  • A 61-year-old Barmera man, charged with trafficking and money laundering. He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court in December.

Across the operation, police seized 1,325 grams of methamphetamine, 339 grams of cocaine, 1,020 MDMA tablets and $63,000 in cash.
