The fifth Indiana Jones movie that Disney is planning will pick up where the previous film in the series, The Crystal Skull, left off.
Despite rumours originally hinting at a prequel, Producer Frank Marshall has confirmed that the next Jones flick (yet to be named) will be a sequel of the plot of the 2008 movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Another rumour put to bed by Marshall was the insulting thought that a younger replacement for Harrison Ford would be found as a 'new' Indi, insisting that no one else will ever be Indiana Jones except Harrison Ford (Amen!)
"It’s all about the story. I think both in the Jason Bourne series and on Indiana Jones, we are not going to do the Bond thing," he stated. "We think those characters are iconic, and those are the only actors who can play that."
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released 19 years after the previous film in the franchise and was panned by critics holding the worst rating of all four films on reviews aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes.
Indiana Jones 5 is set for release 19 July, 2019.
